The Fox Princess is a good sequel to Riz. Flowers pen epic battle scenes leaving the reader on the edge. The return of Fuzz Shaheen the insane chopper pilot , sulky Maryam, Sadie the sniper and in Rizwan Sabir and his lost fiancee Bang-Bang, maybe Flowers has created a new Casino Royale setup. Or maybe this is a Sven Hassel series for the 21st Century, Who knows? All I know is "More please!"
The ability to interweave action/drama with humor is not something learned, you have to be born with it. In The Fox Princess, author Charlie Flowers shows us he is deft at it. Flowers' skill at softening scenes of shocking violence by keeping the reader laughing long enough at the last antics of his protagonists, makes it impossible not to read further, even for the squeamish. As readers of Flowers' previous novel, "Riz" can attest, there is no absolute "right" or "wrong" for Rizwan Sabir and his gang of al-Hur al-Ayn (The Maidens of Paradise) - a motley crew of female ops specialists who would definitely give our own Delta Force a run for its money. Riz(wan)is an ex-jihadi whose primary goal is to make Britain safe from haters of all kinds - and wow, does he have his work cut out for him! From the EDL (English Defense League)- a "radical" white nationalist group, that positively seems moderate in the context of The Fox Princess - to Sikhs Against Muslims, the crew takes on the extremist world and shows them how its done.
